Music great and "The King of Pop" Michael Jackson died last Thursday afternoon in the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, California due to Cardiac arrest and heart attcak, although there is still no official reason why he died, despite the LA Police are still investigating it.

Jackson, 50, debuted into the music scene via The Jackson 5 at age 4, later came out of the Jackson 5's shadows at age 14, via the single "Ben", which won the Best Song Award from the Golden Globe, and the rest is history, Jackson would later came back in 1979 and later emerged into one of the music's most popular singers, even managed to have a few #1 Billboard hits like "Don't Stop Till You Get Enough", "Thriller", and "Bad".

But his private life made him very controversial, he was oftentimes accused of rape and child abuse, inwhich he was "not guilty" of those. And due to this problems, he had many issues about other things that revovled around him, from money to record labels, and even the rights for all of his songs.

And he even married Lisa Marie Presley, the daughter of another music great Elvis Presley, but later seperated in 1996, a few months later, he married nurse Deborah Jean Rove, whom he fathered 2 kids in Michael Joseph Jr. and Paris Michael Katherine, they later divorced in 1999. In 2002, he had another son in Prince Michael Jackson II from an unknown female whom he brought his son into the public during that November, the same year.

Despite his life is full of failure lately, he is known better to be a great musician, aside from Presley, who revolutionized the term "music"

A DIFFERENT SUMMER

Try interpreting the term summer, wondering and thinking about it, what in the world is that? Hmm…Summer? Okay then, so Summer is something very special to some people, like me and you, every people I guess.

Usually, summers are somehow very exciting and adventurous, let’s say you went to the beach, then have some fun there, and also do anything you want as long as you can do it for sake. Throughout the years, my summer has been very amazing, why because of arousing travel adventures around the world. But this year’s summer seems to be very different, as we say. You have to think why is that different, well because of some random bad happenings we are having. For the first time, I have never been to any beach since 2002, while my father spent going to the beach twice, with his office mates. Unfair.

Oh well, my summer has been always at home, surfing the net or sometimes, doing some architect whatever, I was like drawing some of my own concepts such as houses, uniforms, and yes, even shoes, dang! Or sometimes, I would be visible at malls or somehow, appointments, making it some kind of alternatives for some beautiful beaches, yeah!

Well, if my summer would be bad, then there would be even worst, there were about a bunch of news that evolved my summer, which even made me mesmerized about our world,wanna list it? From the outrageous AH1N1 Flu (which was first known as Swine Flu) which grew so rapidly and the world was shocked and got tensed, so shocked some of them were even affected on it, somehow our country has the most updated cases in the Southeast Asia, which some of them are just “mild cases”.

Another set of news (Wow, lookin’ like a reporter)that invaded our country is the Hayden Kho-Katrina Halili scandal, so many theories to tell and some people involved, from Erik Chua to Princess Velasco to Bistek Del Rosario and to Dr. Vicky Belo, and some women were even involved like Maricar Reyes, Ruffa Mae Quinto, and Bea Alonzo, Therefore, this must be a massacare! Wanna dance again? Earlier, Ted Failon had some trouble with personal problems involving her wife–who suicided herself during one silent day of April 15, but he just recently survived over it, eveng manage to have a comeback just this past Monday via TV Patrol World. And yeah, who can ever forget of people dying during my three-month break with the likes of Chuck Daly, Wayman Tisdale, Exodus Tyson, Trina Etong and Douglas Quijano, how sad. And who could ever foget this summer’s winners, from Direk Brillante Mendoza, Oracle Titans, UNC Tar Heels, Los Angles Lakers, Rubilen Amit, Manny Pacquiao and our very own, Team Pilipinas, wow!

In speaking of sprawling headlines, I also went into a new environment, yes a new environment in my life, which is actually entering a new school, my goodness! That experience was really amazing, even managed to meet new friends and buddies to rely on to. And guess what, I even got crushes on that school, some are hot, some are not. But totally, I was happy in a new environment.

Although it was a different summer that I have, not only me, but the entire world, due to random scenes that has happened during these past months, but I would still feel happy, even if I had not been to the beach. Oh well, how about you? Are you happy now?

What a month to recap here! 30 consecutive days of blogging except May 22 might be a streak here in my blog. But apparently, I won't do this by June, because I'm very busy, and I'm about to focus many things like school. My goodness!

Random Thoughts

My goodness, I have some stories to mention here for today:

1. Saw Richard Poon in SM Megamall in his mall tour, for his 2nd album, For You. And I saw a sneak peek of the new 96.3 Easy Rock, but apparently I have no photo, because I was in third floor. But before Poon performed, I saw a new performer in Sabrina, a look-alike of Kyla. She's actually an acoustic singer and performed mostly cover songs like "A Thousand Miles". And the main event has came, Poon performed some of his songs like his carrier single "Kumot at Unan", "Complicated" by Avril Lavigne, and a medley of current songs like "Single Ladies" by Beyonce and "I Hate This Part" by PCD, who will come here by early June. Anyway, that was so exciting, I mean there are some girls who would always shout everytime they see him or somehow, when he goes to the audience, picture perfect! And yeah, his usual band at Eastwood, where he usually performs, are not around.

FOOTNOTE: That's the second time I saw him, I first saw him last year at Eastwood.

2. Exciting cardiac game! You know why? Purefoods and Talk 'n Text had another rubber match, by making it classic! 7 periods, many people contributed, and how pressure and true test of testament of brains, that's how classic the game is! From Simon and Yap making some 2-pt. shots to Ritualo's emergence to Raymundo's crucial three which changed the sympathy of the crowd to Yap's reinstation despite feeling bad, how nostalgic the game is! If they have a DVD, then I will buy a copy! Man! But apparently, I'm betting for the TnT Tropang Texters, who lost the game because of miscommunication, but they still had a great season to say. Oh well, expect Cardona to win the MVP plum, due to his big heart, which he usually shows every game. Whoa! I'm betting for him, but well he might be the first Lasallian to win the PBA MVP. Whoa! Ateneans made that........... (Right Coach Chot Reyes?)

3. Oh My Makati! My sister attended an event awhile ago nearby Makati's trademark, many shopping malls to see around the city. And so I went to Makati, and reminisce some random details I learned from some random websited, seeing Insular Life already having LED, the building already exists from time to time, which is better than rather relying on the old design and let it be. In the other hand, I also went to Greenbelt and had some Window Shopping. And yeah, I saw one of the PBA's most exciting imports to see, who is he? Rosell Ellis of Alaska, whom I saw him in the G2, wherein he was walking around, from going to some shops, then go to CR. Unfortunately, I failed to talk to him or somehow, have a picture and an autograph, would that be better. But I'm happy enough for today.

Hayst! One hectic night, I thought of something history to my life. As a boy, I have facial hair which are existing to some boys, especially when they are young. So, I do have a mustache and beard, which are still tiny. But some said I looked dirty on it. So, I decided to shave it up, just yesterday. May 26, 2009 means something to me, and that's why I posted it here so that I could not forget it.

I shaved my entire face, throughout the evening, from my sideburns to my entire face, I made it looked very clean, which adds my pogi points, hope to do this again and again

Ugh, Globe has been lately sucks a lot. I mean is there something wrong on it? Oh well, here's my story:

One time, just yesterday, I texted something to NBN Sports but they denied it, then I texted Bal at 222, no one responded, and they insisted that the messages I sent are actually not sent. And then after, I saw my signal and everytime I will send it, it goes down and down until my signal does not exist anymore. So I asked my sister why is this happening to my cellphone, I thought there was something wrong in my cellphone, and then she said, "Baka Globe lang yung problema", and so I was like "Damn! Why will they do that?!". Whoa, I hope I have my signal again.

Darn it, one lonely night, I caught something so small and so flexible to touch, and I was like this seems to be something, and later I found out, it was a worm with a skin which is very clear, and also has a black tail inside. Later, I showed it to my sister, curiously asking what animal is that, but seconds later, she discoved that it was a worm, and she screamed a bit, and convinced me to kill it. And I killed it using a tissue, and later put it with alcohol and a tape. Man!

Greetings to my buddy Gelo! Happy birthday!

He had his own celebration awhile ago in his family's compound at Pasig, wherein he is popular by some of his neighbors because of his uncle, Engr. Frankie de Leon, who is also a politician.
I went there, together with my yaya (Filipino term for baby sitter) and saw Gelo, who was my longtime closest buddy in my former school for 6 years, he suffered Cerebral Palsy, having difficulties in writing and talking.

Oh well, as I went there reminiscing, Gelo told me that they went in US last 2007, even went to Las Vegas, ohh, he's really lucky! And also we talked to each other reminiscing some random things about our friendship. Also, I toured the entire house, and their house was really some kind of different and unusual. I've also met some of the people around the house, especially their siblings.

Then Jomar came, one of his classmates last year, and also his buddy there. And we had fun there, I mean really fun, from playing around the compound. Whoa! And we started to crave for foods, just for his birthday, from Selecta 3-in-1 Ice Cream, to Red Ribbon Oreo Cake and to Spaghetti, which is very usual when birthday comes.

After craving for some foods, I went to the other side of their compound, there he teaught me how to play Billiards, I thought it was just easy as it is, but Gelo gave me some tactics which made me difficult, but I wanted to thank him for that. And I've also encountered with a person, maybe one of Gelo's relatives, whom she saw me before, had talk to each other again, reminiscing random things. Ahh alright.

To wrap up the event, my father fetched me. Oh well, happy birthday again to you, my buddy!

FOOTNOTE: I lent my earphones to him, maybe just some of remembrance of friendship. Inspiring! So long everybody......

LESSONS LEARNED

Going back to my past life, it was really a roller coaster one, sometimes, I'm on top, but there would be time that I fail a lot, especially when I went to an exclusive school.

Oh well, this exclusive school, to my belief, is really the most amazing school I will ever enter, despite its worldwide recognition, their Basketball program was really good, both Seniors and Juniors, I mean their players are really fit for the program. Also, they had excellent coaches. Oh well, I also loved their curriculum and also their facilities, but there would be times that their facilities sucks. Nice school! Ditto with their uniforms, wherein they looked like working in an exclusive company.

Damn, my dreams of going there would start, even I was in Grade 3, wherein I started to support them in a popular collegiate league. Geez, in June 2008, my dreams would start as I applied there, and so, I went to a tutor center somewhere in a public place to develop my skills as a student. Therefore, that would be the first school I would try, I was so shocked and pressured, I even tried to pray hard.

My goodness, I even adored this school, and I even started to add some of their alumni in my accounts, and also I even claimed in some of the forums that I came into that school. Whoa.

Then came the final day, I made all my best, but a few months later, I found out, that I was in the waiting list, my mother instead rejected my dreams of going into that school, but I was a bit sad, I instead made my options to move at OB Montessori.

And some of my lessons learned include to never be boastful to go there and also as my mother said, there are still so many times to study there, so wait for the right time to be there, because God has so many plans for us, people. Yeah, and I have already learned my lesson, so I will just go to that school depending on when time will reveal.

MY CELTICS TRIBUTE

Countless injuries and transactions—-that’s the 2008-09 NBA season for the Boston Celtics, defending the title was really difficult for them.

Celtics started the season having a good and decent record, even topped the NBA standings early in the season. But one game in the season made things starting to shake, a defeat vs. the Los Angeles Lakers on Christmas Day, Celtics felt like they were the losers, and it started to affect the entire team.

First, they lost many games, and also made some transactions, like losing Sam Cassell to the Kings (the NBA’s worst team this season, he did not even played a single game with both teams) and the resurgence of bad boy Stephon Marbury, who was marred by rumored trades and controversies. But there are also some players, who emerge a lot, despite losing its major players, and now that’s how Rajon Rondo, Leon Powe, Glen Davis, and Kendrick Perkins are described. Oh well, deep bench.

Despite the emergence of the Celtics’ bench, the Celts still show some signs of failures, losing to less-known teams like LA Clippers, Milwaukee Bucks, and Chicago Bulls made them lousier than ever. Because of this, they still had a good and decent record in 62-20, they took the 2nd seed in the East.

Playoff time! Time goes on but two key players became a huge loss to the franchise, Kevin Garnett (who suffered a knee injury) and benchwarmer Leon Powe. And it started to show it, when they were almost upsetted by the Chicago Bulls, who are actually an upstart team having Derrick Rose and Vinny Del Negro as the key people in the franchise. But the Celtics showed their big heart and Green pride during the 7th game, and so they won the series. This was also Rajon Rondo’s breakout series, who was averaging double-double every game, which made the team impressed a lot.

Their next competitor was the rising force of Orlando Magic with Dwight Howard. And they showed another big heart and pride in the 7 games they have played, especially in Game 4, when Glen Davis made a crucial shot which made them very powerful and also a haunting performance by Stephon Marbury, who scored the reamining points for the C’s in the final period of Game 5. That became the turning point of all of their failures. But they showed all their frustrations again in the next 2 games, but they still gave it all, without Garnett.

This was a good year for them. Pierce even admitted that if not for all those injuries, they would already have a good season. Have a great next season, Celtics! We still believe in you!UBUNTU!

Kasi naman, I eat 3-4 small cups of rice, then eat many chocolates, and also, I sleep very late. I'm about to prove myself again, now that I'm getting bigger as time goes, so when I weigh in, here's the update:

So hearty and delicious! That's how I will describe my dinner yesterday in Fish and Co. at Shangri-La Plaza in Mandaluyong City. Whoa! Their dishes are so delicious, I mean I wanna eat there again. I wanna crave more! I wanna crave more! Haha.

Their dishes include some fishes with fries that represent countries like US and Malaysia. And also there's TV to watch for, PBA on C/S9 baby! And also, if you are about to go to the CR, then wash your hands first before gargling for OraCare for 30-60 seconds. Aww! My mouth smells really fresh after that, try that guys! And I also saw some of their media portfolio like their article last last year in the Sunday Inquirer Magazine.

Whew! What a day, time can still be there for something, and so as my blog. My last post here prior to reusing it was in September 2008, wherein I switched my blog from Blogger to Wordpress, which became my turning point in writing.

And yeah, one day, I thought of having my own journal, I considered MyBlogLog as my first choice, but I thought of something better, I switched back my old and the-wasted sports blog, which is this. Damn, when I returned to blogger late last month, I forgot my password and I just made my blog transformed into a wasted and not readable blog into my life journal or somewhat, my opinion central.

Transforming this one into my journal was really an overwhelming success, which made my blog cleaner and well-made. I would like to thank Mr. Rick Olivares of Business Mirror for infulencing me. Reading his blog made me a better writer. I've been a writer for quite a year now and this was really good, I guess this would be my training blog, so that I could be an excellent litreature author or somehow, a writer. Thumbs-up!

I love my Mom, she's a very sweet and kind person. She knows everything about me, from tip to toe, and to inside and to outside. She's the very first person I've ever encountered in my 13 years of life existence.

She is also a smart girl, she loves Math and English. And also, I adore her a lot, and most of all, she's my inspiration, if not because of her, I would not have a good and balanced life, and I want to thank her for that. She also loves cooking, she's a girl, who knows the science of cooking, and I really love her dishes which she cooked for us, it's so delicious and healthy.

Also, she is also beautiful, from tip toe, and from inside to out, and she really look gorgeous. Whoa, I really like her, she is also a person who is very comfortable to be with, and also a teacher to me and my siblings, and I really adore her for that. And also, she is very friendly and professional, she has so many friends, either boy or girl would do. In other words, she's an all-around person you can have with, like your girlfriend. Haha.

Here's his response to his bad version, he apologizes his fellow Filipinos and the RP-NHI. Geez:

“About 3 months ago I was asked by our champion Manny Pacquiao to sing the national anthem in his fight with Ricky Hatton. I accepted whole-heartedly. This would be my first time to be blessed with the honor of representing my country and singing our national anthem infront of the world. It was then my plan to make my moment of honor not about me or anything showbiz.

“Instead I wanted to stand center ring as nothing else but a proud Filipino singing his anthem, wanting every word and emotion behind each word to reach not just the cheap seats at the very top of the arena, but heard, felt and understood even in the non-Tagalog speaking countries all over the world. Music is the universal language, so I knew if I arranged it and performed it convincingly I could make our anthem understood even though it was the only anthem that night that was not in English. I could have just gone thru the motions of singing it over, but no, I wanted to represent and communicate.

“So with all my heart and love for the country I was so proud to represent as well as the fighter I opened for, I sang the anthem the way I did. If I were to tell you in a soft voice, in perfect time and pitch as dictated by history, ‘Ang Mamatay Nang Dahil Sa ‘Yo’ would you believe me? But if I made sure I said the line with conviction and volume enough to heard over thousands of screams then would you believe me better?

“I cannot apologize for the way I sang it because no one told me the rules nor the laws in years past. Didn’t hear about any of these so-called laws when the others before me sang their versions. I didn’t get the memo. I will not apologize for giving my all just to sing that song infront of the world. But I do apologize ONLY to the people afraid of progress and change, of course to the lawmakers and to whom ever else took offense to my interpretation of probably the most beautiful song I have ever come across. And to everyone else, God bless your open mind and open heart.

Haha, three straight days, we'll gotta go in Robinson's Galleria, why? Because my fellow siblings and parents especially my father and my mother (Haha, what again? LOL) have an appointment somewhere in that mall (It's up to you what I'm referring to). There, so I got my recap for those 2 previous days (including yesterday and today):

DAY 1- Went to Pancake House for lunch, then started to seek appointments. My sister and my mother went to the Department Store in the 2nd Floor as I become their "so-so bodyguard" and I was like failed a bit. Why? Because they did not give me a chance to go somewhere, vice versa happened on the next day, which was just awhile ago. And yeah, I re-discovered Gene Testa, a notable tatoo artist, who was accredited by the DOH, seeking their photos, there were so many celebrities and athlets who went there, like Keempee De Leon, Asi Taulava, Lloyd Zaragoza, and others.

DAY 2- First set of appointments were happened, then I discovered and likened the design of latest Nike shoes like that Zoom Flight Club, which is worn by Tony Parker, and that Air Max Spot Up, which is worn by Dirk Nowitzki. Ofcourse, I won't forget Kobe and MVP's signature shoes, dang. And yeah, I listened to the radio in the Bench/ Body store, via Mellow 947. Yeah men! And my family spent dinner a few hours ago at Mongkok, just nearby Pancake House.

DAY 3 is tomorrow, so there would be a next set of appointments, haha, got to post it tomorrow night.

This flu already occurs the 3/4 of our world, so we need to be very careful, especially that there are two people are about to have Swine Flu here in our country, the Philippines. Our lives are on the line here. Actually, that Swine flu started in Mexico, then people in that country started to wear quarantine, the one surgeons wear, and then it started to pass on others, and so as coutries.

THE SCIENCE OF THE NATIONAL ANTHEM

Martin Nievera has been criticized lately for having a different version of the National Anthem, sounded like Jazz music. He was sacked by National Historical Institute of the Philippines because of this.

In my opinion, what he did is really bad, he made it very different, and he did exceed the normal time limit for the anthem. Usually, the time limit of our anthem is less than a minute, but his version adds more 30 seconds. And also, he did not also wear our national costume, for males, which is the Barong Tagalog, what is this? Francis Magalona? Damned! Whoa, looks like Nievera is imitating the Americans, who can usually make their own national anthem version, which is the "Star-Spangled Banner".

First of all, before I accepted this project, we made sure that this had nothing to do with political campaigns. And we were assured that it wasn't. I am shocked that people actually see this advocacy as something negative and corrupt. Instead of people seeing it as an improved way of the Filipino life, they choose to find something wrong with it. Sayang yung project.

Regardless if you receive campaign emails or not, it is up to you to decide on what to do. In a way, this campaign is also encouraging people, especially the younger generation, to register and VOTE. Just like the "Don't Vote" campaign in the US, the Ako Mismo org hopes to help in increasing the number of voters. We musn't be apathetic.

These kinds of people are actually what make the Philippines seem like a hopeless country. I mean, here is this movement, actually trying to make a difference in the Filipinos (since change begins with oneself) and instead of believing in it, there are some people who choose to put it down. I know that our country hasn't been improving much but come on, we can't just give up. We HAVE to take a stand. As the commercial says, poverty, inadequate education and insufficient jobs are not the main problems we are currently experiencing. The biggest problem that the Philippines is suffering from is its people's loss of hope. I thought that this ad would actually encourage the Filipinos to begin changing themselves by deciding not to give up. But now I can see that it isn't enough. And honestly, I don't think that anything will ever be good enough for the Filipinos. MASYADONG MARAMING REKLAMO. Nakakapagod na.

Oh well. I just really hope that you guys could give our country a chance. Wag tayo mawawalan ng pag-asa. smile.gif

P.S. Smart denied these allegations. They simply pay for spots so that the ad would air. And with the billions of money SMART-PLDT makes, why would they need to make money out of this campaign? Tsk tsk.

THE CONFESSIONS OF A FAT GUY

Hehehehe.

That's how I will say for my next blog entry, well by the way, I really hate being fat, especially now that I'm 13 (Yes, I'm still a minor). I've been fat for years, and I want to start moving on now, I'll mark this on my brain. Now that I'm moving on to a new world, I want to look good, feel good, but sad to say, being fat is already in our genes. Sucks right?

I want to move on, I want to change my diet, I want to fulfill my biggest promise, to be slimmer, and do what I can do so that I can achieve great success. I've been doing this for years, but I ended up having up-and-down weight process, kum baga tumataba, pumapayat. So there.

From eating any kind of food, now I'm craving for healthier foods. I'm about to balance myself now starting today, I'll sleep early, eat healthy, do exercise, and think positive. I hate sleeping at very dark nights, it makes my face uglier and having darker eyebugs (I hate to admit this but I have pimples, which decreases my pogi points. :) Haha.) Alright, I gotta check my weight:

May 1, 2009: 194 lbs.
Tentative Date (June-July I guess): 155-160 lbs. could be good enough

That's so many!

Ok, so the things I could do, aside from a balanced life, is to decrease my time limit for internet, then I will also skip meals, and tell myself that everytime you look into a food everywhere, neve touch it, there are still so many days to crave that for.

Well, I'll keep on updating my health status. Remember that being slim has many advantages.

THE OBMCI EXPERIENCE

It's new day shining into our lives, and so as I am. It's like June to me now, because this would be my first time to enter my future school, the Operation Brotherhood Montessori Corporation, Greenhills Branch. 2 hectic weeks of struggles and happiness, I love studying here!

Haha, it all started when I see a hundred of strangers, then came the CAT people and the flag ceremony (Which happens eveyday.). Hooo hah! That's how CAT people shout, they're like cheering, because they train everyday under Mr. Dela Pena or sometimes, Mr. J.M Capistrano. CAT, by the way, is the High School version of the usual Boy Scout and Girl Scout.

Now back to the topic, I went there as a virtually unknown student. Then came introductions, I saw some classmates (We're actually mix, there are 24 incoming 1st yr. students, 3 2nd yr. students, and a 3rd yr. student, all came from other schools. And some will study in Greenhills -including me- then some from Sta. Ana).

By the way, my first friend is Marlon Mandane, the one who has shaved his hair lately, then came Charles, Roy, the 2 Joshuas, then some girls such as Alyssa and Micah (OT: She called me hamon -Tagalog term for Ham, a food-, funy though :) ).

Then came touring some of the facilities, and yeah, they're beautiful. And here's more decent about the school, the students usually shake hands when they greet someone. After those, there are some orientations, lessons and seatworks of the respective subjects. By the way, our subjects include TLE, Math, Language, Cultural Arts, and Leadership Training (The CAT).

Our teachers include Mrs. Ruth Dotimas, Mrs. Ellen Suva, Mrs. Charmaine Apo, and Mr. Capistrano. My favorite here is Mr. Capistrano, he's strict but funny, ditto with his green jokes.

And yeah, this experience is overwhelming, infact I even admired some girls (I'll never tell!). Haha, just kidding, it's really good. Hanggang sa June na lang! Miss you guys!

Just recently reading a thread about going to the top of the rim entitled "The Greatest Filipino Dunker " (See "Sports Center", "NBA" section) in PEx.Now based from my observations, some users say that Paul Alvarez and Venacio Paras are the greatest players ever to reach the top of the rim.Now here's my choice.

Paul Alvarez

Once had stints with Alaska Milkmen, Shell Rimula-X, San Miguel Beermen, Gordon's Gin Boars, Soccsargen Marlins, FedEx Express, Talk 'N Text Phone Pals, and Red Bull Barako Coffee Drink.

He jumps so high like he's climbing on Mountain Everest.A 6-foot guard from San Sebastian College-Recoletos, he could do so many dunks and acrobatic moves no player has ever done since basketball was born here.

His problem is his attitude on and off court.He was involved in so many controversies including a gun shot in his butt, having relationships with showbiz personalities, and an incident with ABS-CBN reporter Gretchen Malalad.

But so many people will remeber him with his moves and attitude.

Here's my other considered great rimtoppers:
1. Venacio Paras-A 6-4 center from UP, dunks so hard because of his size and athleticism.
2. Vergel Meneses-A 6-3 forward from JRU (then JRC during his days), won so many dunk contests.

Now that's I go over the rim!

PASIG CITY----Recently, the 2 collegiate leagues once have some troubles in one of their teams.Not an usual fight, but Uniforms.Collegiate's best basketball teams are in trouble: San Beda Red Lions and Ateneo Blue Eagles wherein 3 players were involved.

These guys wore wrong uniform in a ballgame.First, during the SBC-CSB game, SBC center Sam Ekwe wore a wrong uniform which is diferrent to the usual jerseys SBC has.The usual jersey has a Talk 'N Text jersey patch and a NCAA logo.Sam's jersey was a Red Lion in the left side, Talk 'N Text logo in the middle and a NCAA logo.Look at the photos to see the difference.

I discover this actually noong 2004 sa Maong69 Site ng GeoCities, cover puros Marlou Aquino, Asi Taulava, Kenneth Duremdes, 25 Years.Yun.

I was supposed to buy that 2003 and 2001 annuals kaya lang 2008 ko lang ito narediscover.Actually nakita ko yugn 01 at 03 an yan, nung time na binlili ko yung PBA The First 25 at PBA 20 Yrs. in Pictures.

My first annual was the Menk cover during 04-05 season where binili ko siya noong late? April 2008.

I don't want him to trade.Sayang siya if this happens.The Captain would be probably 2005-2006 PBA MVP James Yap.Baka manyari yung "2003 season syndrome".

Kung mangyayari to, I'd predict baka sa Air21 siya for Arwind Santos or back to Red Bull and have reconcilation with Coach Yeng Guiao.

Or what if Coach Ryan give E-Vill minuted to defend.E-Vill must rejuvenate his talent he had with RB during 2006-06 season.

On natural point guards, elevate PJ Simon to PG, besides, he's 6-flat.He already improved this season asisde from winning the PBA All-Star MVP, I'd predict he will win Most Improve Player in the 33th Leo Awards.

Or, give way for Tito "Noy" Castillo, even at 30s, give him minutes, he already won a MIP (Most Improved Player) 5 seasons ago.He need to rejuvenate his talent he had at Shell or his 2002 breakout.

I'd notice na vs. Alaska, noong 1st Quarter, hirap tayo sa defense.This would be my solution:
- Use former MBA star Omanzie Rodriguez and give him minutes and show his talent he had with MBA a few years ago evan at 30s as a reserve.

I'd say don't show your age, just show your talent.

On Imports, Reda Rhalima is good, gave us back-2-back wins against Sta. Lucia and Talk 'N Text respectively.And he was also responsible for giving us a win versue the PBA's best team for now, the Coca-Cola Tigers who has Asi Taulava as ther superstar and Binky Favis as a head coach.I'd say huwag palotan yung import.But if we would have some losses we had with Rice, recruit someone who is very talented.I'd considered Marquin Chandler or James Penny for the replacement.Sana huwag palitan si Rhalimi.Yun na.

My Expectations on PBA's Solar coverage

Congrats to Solar Entertainment and Kaboom!
I hope these things would happen:

1. Good graphics.I hope they should have the ala-ABC (NBA, 2005-06) score bar, one of the most beautiful.Graphics also should have ala-ESPN and TNT.Upgrade your graphics.

2. Commentators.Here are my proposed broadcast talents in PBA on Solar:

Play-by-Play: Ed Picson, Chino Trinidad, Mico Hallili, Sev Sarmenta*,Richard Del Rosario, Vitto Lazatin, Mark Zambrano, Bill Velasco, Benjie Paras

Color: Quinito Henson, Randy Sacdalan*, Yeng Guiao (except RB games or after RB game), Andy Jao (except RB games or after RB game), Jason Webb, Noel Zarate, Paolo Trillo, Butch Maniego, Manny Dandan (substitute for Yeng)

4. Other TV programs.They should air it on BTV and C/S.Although C/S is an action-themed network, add some extra sports.Air it on noontime or somewhat at nights.Sports are also a bit extremely with action.Put the half of the channel with PBA.

5. Schedule.That coverage must air at Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunady.On Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, doublehader (for Saturdays, Out of Town Doubleheader).On Sunday, a tripleheader.The third game must call "PBA Game of the Week".My proposed sked for PBA on Solar.:

Wednesday: 4pm, 6pm
Friday: 4pm, 6pm
Saturday: 2pm, 4pm
Saturday: 2pm, 4pm, 6pm

6. Ratings.Somewhat, RPN might take the 3rd slot over the Q channel, GMA's Studio 23 version for the highest-rated network.

Well since ABS-CBN withdrew its bid in PBA coverage.There will be a new network that could replace ABS.Possible replacers include Makisig Network (owned by Jake Maderazo, a former producer of ABS-CBN's morning shows, those games will air on IBC-13).

What if a PBA on Solar-ABS merger?

I was thinking of a Solar-Studio 23 merging a few days back.I wanted these 2 networks to have peace within.These 2 networks are having feuds since late 2007.

Blame Manny Pacquiao, our Pambansang Kamao.Manny chose GMA over ABS-CBN to cover his fight in Alamodome vs. Jorge Solis of Mexico.Solar also cooperated in that boxing coverage.Some people said that Solar Sprts are more on boxing rather than basketball or other sports.

ABS-CBN Sports felt bad to Solar who are reponsible to cover Pacquiao's fights to GMA Network, the top network in the Philippines.After the fight, Sky Cable, a subsidary of ABS-CBN immidiately removed Solar channels at the start of this year.They are replaced by Balls, Velvet, AXN Beyond, Fox Crime, Lifestyle Network, and Maxxx.

These 2 networks are rumored to be the new PBA television coverors to replace ABC Sports.Those rumors were started in mid-February of 2008.

Actually, these 2 networks already joined the bid previously: ABS in 2000 and Solar in 2004 and 2006 which both networks lose to Viva-Vintage Television and ABC-5 (twice)respectively.Take note that those years of bidding Jude "Kaboom!" Turcuato, then Silverstar Sports talent (1994-1999), ABS-CBN sports talent (1999-2003), former PBA Marketing Director (2004-2005), current Solar VP for marketing was there.

The search for the bid had a series of meetings with 2 networks.But this time, Solar won over ABS-CBN which is not yet final.According to some PBA executives, most PBA governors and owners like Wilfred Uytengsu of Alaska, Terry Que and Raymond Yu of Welcoat voed Solar over ABS.After Solar won the bid yesterday, Peter Musngi, ABS-CBN's VP for Manila Radio and Sports~also their VO and comapny felt bad and decided to withdraw its bid.Actually, Comm. Barrios said that the decision is not yet final.

In Solar's win, there are people who are disappointed while executives like Terry Que and Uytengsu are happy with this.

Currently, the PBA is looking for a network that could replace ABS-CBN for its bid.Possible networks include Makisig Network (airing the games on IBC-13)

Now I was thinking a merger (like the NBN and IBC did 5 years ago) of these 2 archrival networks.My plan of the merger is like this:

Pregame: RPN/BTV
Game: Studio 23
Halftime: RPN/BTV
Game: Studio 23
Postgame: RPN/BTV
Other PBA Programs: RPN/BTV, Studio 23 (magsama na sila)

PBA Annual Hardcourt Launching (3rd Time)

Hello there...
My name is Pepeton.
Well.. this is my first blog..
Entitle: PBA Annual Hardcourt launching..

I'd say it's my greatest day ever.
Why?
Because some of my favorites were there with the likes of Samboy Lim of SMB, Alvin Patrimonio of Purefoods, Allan Caidic of Presto, SMB, and Ginebra.These are legends.

This event happened in May 20, 2008 in Shakeys, 2/F Main, SM North Edsa, the oldest SM mall in the Philippines in Quezon City.The event's time: 4-6pm.

The cover is Willie Miller with Yancy De Ocampo and former import JJ Sullinger of TnT.The annual has so many pictures.

The mistake of the annual is that there are no profiles of Eddie Laure of Alaska, Rey Evangelista of Purefoods, and Paolo Bugia of Red Bull.There are also no stats for Omanzie Rodriguez of SMB (now Purefoods), and Ronnie Bughao of Sta. Lucia.

Based from my experience, I signed my annual almost all players except for Macky Escalona and Jireh Ibanes.I certainly don't know Ibanes because I am not a Welcoat fan but for Escalona, I know him but somewhat he went out of the pizza parlor at about 5:15pm (not sure, approximately).Maaga nga eh.

When I talked to some players, Allan and I would have the longest conversation.Here's our conversation:

Pepman: Asan po si Coach Jimmy Mariano(UE coach during his time)?Balita ko po huli kong nakita siya sa Wish Ko Lang
AC: Ah... nagcocoach sa Cainta
Pepman: si Leo Paguntalan?
Pepman: A eh huling balita ko po na nagcoach ng PSBA Jaguars (PSBA, school of PBA player Marc Pingris studied there played in the URBL, take note that Mariano was the head honcho of PSBA in 2005 )
AC: Oo
Pepman: Eh sino naman po yung head coach ng UST Glowing Goldies that time?
AC: Si... Jimmy Mariano (so many people came in Shakeys baka hindi niya narinig nang maayos)

One funny experience.I asked the host "Sir Barry, asan po si Macky Escalona?".He reponded "Sayang, hindi mo nakita, wala na".Now the mistake, I called Sir Benjie---Sir Barry.Daming ABC Sports commentators eh.

Now a very memorable, I had an access to talk with the staff and the luckiest, the Commissioner signed my annual and had a picture with him and my sister.

There were rumors that there is one player who is not in his mood to sign some autographs.Thank I had a autograph with him.His name?
Ronjay Buenafe of Coca-Cola Tigers.
